Expectantly Exploring Epiphany: Introduction

Hey Y'all:

For the last few days every then and now I've been Expectantly Exploring Epiphany as my heart wants more CHRISTMAS: below are my current online findings.

I'm also in the middle of reading Hidden Christmas by Tim Keller, in which he states: "Christmas is a secular festival, but on the same page, he gently reminds us: "Jesus comes as Light because we are too spiritually blind to find our own way."

In many ways Epiphany is a celebration of the true light of the one and only Jesus and I'm greatly enjoying the exploration and the title, but I doubt I'll get back to this joyous fun until December of this calendar year. But, for now I hope we all consider the Feast of Epiphany in some shape, form or fashion.

PLEASE NOTE:

The Catholic News Agency reports: "Epiphany celebrates the revelation that Jesus was the Son of God. It focuses primarily on this revelation to the Three Wise Men, but it also focuses on his baptism in the Jordan and at the wedding at Cana."

Get this :according to The History Channel The Feast of Epiphany predates ChristmasIn the Eastern churches, the focus of Epiphany is on the manifestation of the Trinity in Jesus’ baptism writes Trevin Wax

The USA Presbyterian Church states: "For Christians, Christmas marks the coming of God to us; Epiphany celebrates the appearance of the Lord in the midst of humanity."

"Epiphany can help us appreciate more fully the meaning of Christ's birth and help us rediscover what worshiping Christ means." James Allen Wildeman

And YES, I'm also, super excited to note: Baptist New Global, houses more than a few Epiphany fully loaded posts!

The word Epiphany comes from the Greek word emphanes, which is our English root/key word MANIFEST. Please see the graphic below for all the many Biblical references!
