A correct basis for our asking

In his book Walking in Fellowship with God, Disciple’s Prayer Life T.W. Hunt states: A correct basis for our asking gives God a reason to answer our prayers. In other words, like a child asking for a new dress, we must give God a reason to answer our prayers. 

I learned this principle twenty-five years ago as I sat in a ladies Bible Study class. Since then, I practice this principle of prayer on an on going basis. 

Also know this particular prayer principle comes directly from The Word Of God! King Hezekiah is in a mess with the king of Assyria. The bottom line is this, King Hezekiah went to The Lord in prayer!

Now therefore, O Lord our God, I beseech thee, save thou us out of his hand, that all the kingdoms of the earth may know that thou art the Lord God, even thou only. 2 Kings 19:19 (KJV) In 2 Kings 19:19, King Hezekiah begged the Lord’s salvation and then King Hezekiah gives The Lord a reason to provide a positive answer to his prayer.

There it is the reason!

When I am praying for someone not on the narrow path, my default prayer is …. So that he/she may continue to or begin to boldly stand and declare the mighty name of the one and only Jesus. 

And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us: 1 John 5:14 (KJV)
