The one and only Jesus said: It is finished, because he finished the assignment. His earthly work of ministry was done. He achieved all the Good Lord had set forth for him to achieve. He taught the multitude in public, he consulted and counseled folks like Nicodemus in private. He raised his friend Lazarus from the dead, He attended a wedding and walked on water. He discipled twelve ordinary men, one of which would betray him. 

Therefore when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, “It is finished!” And He bowed His head and gave up His spirit. John 19:30

The one and only Jesus achieved all the things and He and He alone should be our standard and if Jesus is not our standard, then, we really need to check ourselves.
