Rebuilding Biblical Foundations in 2020: A Year Long Study of Genesis 1 - Day 1 Week 3/53 : Create
Bara בָּרָא (H1254) create was one of the first Hebrew words I remember learning in one of the many Bible Study Fellowship classes I have attended over the years. ktisis κτίσις (G2937) is a super close Greek meaning.
In the beginning God created.
This week our focus is on the key Word CREATE. This word is found numerous times in both the old and new testaments of the Holy Word of God and this week we will study each and every occurrence of this particular word. Last week we limited our study to the person of God, since he is so much more than a Key Word, I felt it necessary to spend all last week, super focused on our Great and Supreme God of In The Beginning. Not that HE IS any different, but like I said last week, there are many facets to HIS character. My number one takes a way from our study of God last week is that HE is the Master Creator! And the thing about one who masters a thing is that we can all learn from the Master. So, of course, it's no coincidence that our study takes us right to CREATE.
Today, let's pause in Thanksgiving for our Creator God, the one who created the heaven and the earth. The one who moved upon the face of the waters. The one who said let the be light and there was light. The one who divided light from darkness, although it was good. The one who called the light day and the darkness night. The one who divided the waters from the waters. The one who said let the waters be gathered together in one place and oh by the way let the dry land appear. The one who called the gathering together of water seas and the dry land earth.
In the beginning God created.
May our Father continue to bless and keep you in His great love. May HE continue to fashion you in the likeness of himself. And may he also continue to reign you in whenever and wherever HE deems necessary. And may you fall in step with His keeping, insothat you too may be confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ! In the mighty name of Jesus I pray. AMEN!
