A Biblical Solar Eclipse from: 2 Kings 20:9 - 11 ESV

 

Y'all!

I don't know if you know it or not, but this is one of my most favorite GOD stories! So, I am honored today to share a portion of it with you. You will likely need to read the entire Book of 2 Kings to really understand this miracle. But, nevertheless, it's a miracle which involves two people and GOD, the story ends with a King, a prophet and sadly a well learned lesson! But for today, let's focus on one of the miracles in the story of 2 Kings! 

In Biblical Days steps and or staircases were often used as sundials as the i-watch was yet to be invented! Anyway, after being healed by God from a terminal illness Hezekiah determined that his sign or evidence that the Lord had heal healed him would be that he would go up to the house of the Lord on the third day?

But in addition, Isaiah, Hezekiah's counselor, and a prophet of the Lord gave Hezekiah, the choice of the movement of the sundial, backward or forward as the Lord's sign of the healing, and Hezekiah selected the movement of the shadow in a reverse direction as the sign for the Lord.

After the Lord's sign of healing was selected by Hezekiah, Isaiah the prophet called to the Lord, and he brought the shadow back ten steps, by which it had gone down on the steps of Ahaz!
