JUST PRINTED! Bible Exposition for WOMEN students and teachers of the WORD Workbook
Y'all! I'm super excited to report: The printed and bound Workshop Workbook (Bible Exposition for WOMEN students and teachers of the WORD) for Salon Saturdays arrived via the Unites States Postal Service, last Friday, the twenty-eighth day of March!
The first in person, Salon Saturday was the twenty- second day of March!
The Workshop Workbook is embedded in the forthcoming book titled The Art of Engaging The WORD Exegetically in an Everyday Expository Fashion. This book is over one hundred and fifty pages and publishing prior to our workshop deadline, plus pricing was about to make this endeavor not a reality! So, I prayed to the Lord God Almighty for HELP and HE ANSWERED my prayer! After praying, I created a spiral bound workbook for the workshop and had twelve printed at my local Walgreens.
To GOD be the Glory! Great things HE hath done and continues to DO!
But, what I've yet to tell you or explain is me ASKING THE LORD for a new thing to more simply explain the process of the very long title: The Art of Engaging The WORD Exegetically in an Everyday Expository Fashion: My prayer was once again ANSWERED by the LORD with one letter and one number, a number which has been significant to me for many years, thus the birth of the E4 Bible Study Practice, which is featured in the Bible Exposition for WOMEN students and teachers of the WORD Workbook!
To GOD be the Glory! Great things HE hath done and continues to DO!
But, that ain't all! Recently, I kept reading and rereading my resources for the book, when I realized, four of them were saying the exact same thing! But Julia B. Higgings says it best on page 101 of her book: Empowered and Equipped: Bible Exposition for Women Who Teach the Scriptures:
To GOD be the Glory! Great things HE hath done and continues to DO!
"If the student or teacher does not have translating abilities, she should consider reading the passage in at least four translations. Reading the passage in multiple translations aids in pointing out textual differences when one English word has been chosen over another English word." — Julia B. Higgings
The writers (Fee and Stuart) of How to Read the Bible for All Its Worth simply state: "For the study of the Bible, one should use several translations."
And
The writers of Grasping God's Word suggest for "Bible Study, the student and or teacher of the Word should consider the NASB, the ESV, the CSB or the NET Bibles for serious study."
Additionally:
In their book, Living By The Book, Hendricks and Hendricks compare four translations in Chapter 7 and state: "Its helpful to read the Bible in different versions."
So, there you have it four scholars who strongly suggest serious Bible Study involves the reading of the text in multiple translations!
Reading the passage in four translations is step two of The E4 Bible Study Practice!
To GOD be the Glory! Great things HE hath done and continues to DO!
