GIFTS OF READING THE WORD IN 90 DAYS
The Lord was super kind and gracious to inspire me last year at the very end of our 90 Day reading with the phrase ONLY JESUS MAKES ALL THINGS NEW, which is the title of our very first Bible Study! And, when I say at the very end, I absolutely mean day 90 of 90 days!
Due to the nature of our current cultural climate, I thought it wise to rerun something I did back in 2017, which was titled 140 Days of Biblical Prayer. So, a PRAYER focus has been on my mind and heart these days as we navigate the constant changes in our national government. Today is only day two of the 90 Day read through and I feel as if the Lord has already handed me a gift. The key word CALL is actually used in the text a great number of times, but I noticed the key phrase the Lord called to the man in Genesis 3:9. Then, I noticed in Genesis 4:26 men began to call on the Lord. But, what I never really noticed before was the PATTERN! Do you see it and the question I am really wondering is DO WE STILL CALL ON THE NAME OF THE LORD?
Genesis 3:9
Then the Lord God called to the man, and said to him, “Where are you?”
Genesis 4:26
o Seth, to him also a son was born; and he called his name Enosh. Then men began to call upon the name of the Lord.
Genesis 12:8
Then he proceeded from there to the mountain on the east of Bethel, and pitched his tent, with Bethel on the west and Ai on the east; and there he built an altar to the Lord and called upon the name of the Lord.
Genesis 13:4
to the place of the altar which he had made there formerly; and there Abram called on the name of the Lord.
Genesis 21:33
Abraham planted a tamarisk tree at Beersheba, and there he called on the name of the Lord, the Everlasting God.
Genesis 26:5
So he built an altar there and called upon the name of the Lord, and pitched his tent there; and there Isaac’s servants dug a well.
